The Pikeville Lady Panthers won their second straight 59th District title and 12 overall in program history with a 46-36 victory over Shelby Valley’s Lady Kats in a game played at the Shelby Valley Sports Center on Thursday night..
Trinity Rowe finished with 18 points and Kyera Thornsbury tallied 12 as Pikeville moved to 28-2.
Kyra Looney led Valley(22-9) with 10 points. Cassidy Rowe left the game with an injury and had five points. Alyssa Elswick tossed in eight.
Both teams advance to the 15th Region Tournament next week at the Appalachian Wireless Arena.

Central’s Hannah May led all scorers with 12 for the Lady Hawks, who dropped to 12-17.

Lawrence County survived a furious fourth-quarter comeback by Floyd Central to beat the Lady Jaguars in overtime, winning 67-62, to claim their third straight 58th District Tournament championship at Floyd Central on Thursday night.
Kensley Feltner poured in a game-high 36 points and Leandra Curnutte chipped in nine as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 25-7.
Grace Martin scored 22 in the loss as the Lady Jaguars fell to 20-9. Jada Johnson followed with 15 and Kamryn Shannon tallied 11.

Laken Williams led the Lady Cardinals, now 22-6, with 18 points and Jaaliyah Warren followed with 13. Brittany Thompson net 10.
Ava Hyden paced the Lady Tigers with 17 points and Kylie Kinner finished with 14 as the Lady Tigers dropped to 18-12.
Martin County won all eight of its games against district opponents.
