Magoffin County head football coach John DeRossett lost his opener to an emotional Breathitt County team, 34-0, at Mike Holcomb Field on Friday night.
The Bobcats lost everything during the recent eastern Kentucky flooding but was able to open after help came from all around to replace equipment and shoes.
Running back Caden Bowling ran for three touchdowns and finished with 155 yards on eight carries.
Magoffin County was led by running back Ben Lafferty who totaled 68 yards on 17 carries. Aden Barnett passed for 48 yards in the loss. Ian McCarty had one catch for 28 yards.
The Hornets will host Prestonsburg (1-0) on Aug. 26. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
