Former Pikeville High School standout Jackson Hensley is leaving Wake Forest University.
Hensley released the following statement:
“I’d like to thank Coach Clawson and Coach Higgins for giving me the opportunity to play at Wake Forest. It has been an honor to be part of this program and wear the black and gold.
“I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. With that being said I will be entering there transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility.
“College film is available with request via DM.”
He helped lead the Panthers to a 14-0 record and state championship his senior season in 2019, catching 12 passes and finishing with 809 yards through the air.
He finished his high school career with 2,484 yards on 140 catches and 34 touchdowns through the air.
Hensley was a baseball and track standout as well with the Panthers.
