HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Perry Central’s upset bid falls short against Bell

Perry Central had heavily favored Bell County on the ropes.

The Bobcats, pinned deep in their own territory, put together a game-winning drive, capped by quarterback Blake Burnett’s 21-yard run as Bell County escaped with a 30-26 win on Friday night.

Quarterback Kizer Slone passed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. His 10-yard TD run had given the Commodores the lead in the final quarter.

Running back Seth Jackson ran for 113 yards and a score. Receivers Tyler Robinson and Noah Kilburn hauled in scoring passes.

The Commodores, now 2-2, will play at Shelby Valley (3-1) on Friday. Kickoff from Hobart Clay Johnson Field is 7:30 pm.
