MTS/BUFFALO WILD WINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Valley star honored

Shelby Valley High School senior and Mr. Kentucky Basketball candidate Cody Potter has been named the Mountain Top Sports/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week following his performance in the High-Tech Signs/Graphix Tournament played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse this past week.

Potter finished with games of 28, 48 and 34 points and grabbed 10, 13 and 15 rebounds to finish with three double-doubles.

He edged out Johnson Central standout Isaiah May who had a monster week as well, with 32, 32 and 23 points.

Pikeville’s Kirsten Cole-Williamson had a pair of double-doubles for the Lady Panthers and scored in double figures in three games.

Lawrence County’s Kensley Feltner; Prestonsburg’s Gunner Williams; Martin County’s Trey James; Pikeville’s Rylee Samons; Paintsville’s Emilea Preece; Valley’s Alyssa Newsom and Zoee Johnson; Pike Central’s Kelsi Brinager and Kylea Weddington; Belfry’s Cushi Fletcher; East Ridge’s Kristin Thacker; and Lawrence County’s Tyler Maynard.

Milestones:
