HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Golden Eagles cruise past Warriors

LICK CREEK – The Johnson Central Golden Eagles took control early on and went on to beat East Ridge, 87-62, in a game played at the Reservation on Thursday night.

Cory VanHoose paced five players in double figure scoring with 16 points as Johnson Central improved to 13-6. John King tossed in 13 while Grant Rice added 12. Isaiah May followed with 11 and Bryson Hackney tallied 10.

East Ridge, now 5-11, was led by Braxton Stanley’s game-high 17 points. Cameron Hess added 14 and Eli Rose netted 13.

BUCKLEYS CREEK – Pike Central dominated from the opening tip as the Hawks rolled past Jenkins, 66-20, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Thursday night.

Jacob Young led a balanced attack with 17 points and Logan Layne added 10 as the Hawks moved to 5-14. Garvin Crum pulled down 10 rebounds.

Annie Harris paced Perry Central with 25 points

Kaylee Banks paced the Lady Cougars, now 14-7, with 22 points while Brooke Bates and Brooklynn Collins tossed in 13 apiece. Keira Couch added nine.

Kensley Feltner poured in 33 points and 16 points for the Lady Bulldogs, now 10-10. Alexis Ratliff tossed in 13 and Brooke Neal added 12 and Ellie Webb chipped in nine.
