PIKEVILLE – Pikeville, despite suffering its worst defeat this season on Monday night, held onto the No. 1 ranking in the final regular-season Mountain Top Sports girls’ Super 7 poll released on Tuesday.
The Panthers, 21-6, was followed by Floyd Central (17-7) at No. 2. The Lady Jaguars moved ahead of Shelby Valley, now 16-8, at No. 3.
Martin County (18-8) finished fourth, followed by Chapmanville (16-5) and Letcher Central (19-10) tied at No. 5.
Rounding out the poll are Belfry (13-13) at No. 6, followed by Mingo Central (15-6) at No. 7.
Teams receiving votes were Tug Valley (15-6), Phelps (17-10), Pike Central (12-12), Johnson Central (14-13) and Lawrence County (16-13).
