HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Valley stumbles in home loss to West Carter

West Carter shut down Shelby Valley’s offensive attack and forced four Wildcat turnovers in a 53-14 district win at Teco Field on Friday night.

Valley quarterback Russ Osborne ran for both Wildcat touchdowns in the loss. He rushed 13 times for 90 yards and passed for 115 yards.

Keian Worrix hauled in four passes for 43 yards.

Comet running back Leetvious Cline rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns and hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass as West Carter moved to 3-0.

The Wildcats, now 2-1, will play at Prestonsburg (1-2) on Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
