The Shelby Valley Lady Kats and Pikeville Lady Panthers will clash at 8 pm tonight in the girls’ 15th Region championship game at the Appalachian Wireless Arena.
The two teams advanced following semifinal round wins on Friday night.

Shelby Valley jumped out to a double-digit lead early on against Paintsville and the Lady Kats rolled to a 59-23 victory.
Kyra Looney led four Valley players in double figures with a game-high 16 points as the Lady Kats moved to 2-0. Zoee Johnson followed with 14 while Cassidy Rowe and Alyssa Elswick added 11 each. Rowe had seven assists and three steals. Elswick pulled down seven boards and dished out six assists.
Paintsville, now 1-2, had three players with five each – Ava Hyden, Leandra Curnutte and Emilea Preece.

Pikeville erupted offensively in the second quarter to pull away and beat Prestonsburg, 73-28.
Kenzie Maynard poured in 17 points and Trinity Rowe followed with 15 as the Lady Panthers moved to 2-0. Emma Ratliff chipped in eight.
Faith Lazar had seven for the Lady Blackcats, now 1-1.
