PIKEVILLE – Paintsville overcame a 13-point deficit in the second half to stun Shelby Valley, 57-55, to complete a four-game run through the All “A” Classic and the tournament title in a game played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Colby Fugate sparked the comeback with 34 points as Paintsville improved to 9-8 overall and won their sixth straight game.
Braxton Tharp chipped in eight points and Nick Keeton added six and 10 rebounds.
Valley’s Cody Potter matched Fugate shot-for-shot as he finished with 34 as well. Elijah Sykes added nine.
Paintsvile will face Harlan at McBrayer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University on Thursday.
