BREAKING NEWS: Mingo County goes orange; games postponed next week

The latest state color-code map released Saturday night by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources shows Mingo and Logan counties are in the orange, halting sports for next week.

Tug Valley, which beat Sherman, 22-20, on Friday night, was scheduled to host Weirton Madonna next Saturday afternoon.

Mingo Central’s game at Point Pleasant was already canceled as a result of COVID-19 outbreak at the school.

Logan County will continue to practice this week. Games had already been canceled because of the county’s previous red-code status. Chapmanville, Logan and Man will hope to open their respective seasons on Sept. 18.
