CLASS 4A STATE SEMIFINALS: Golden Eagles waltz into title game

Johnson Central is headed back to the Class 4A state championship game for the fifth consecutive time following Friday night’s 52-14 dismantling of Madisonville-North Hopkins at Eagle Field.

The Golden Eagles, now 14-0, will face Boyle County next Saturday afternoon at Kroger Field. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

Johnson Central rushed for 519 yards, including 280 yards and two first quarter touchdowns on 21 carries from Devin Johnson. Dillon Preston followed with 114 yards and a score while Cody Rice added 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Quarterback Ryley Preece ran for once TD and passed for another.
