EMERSON, Ga. – The University of Pikeville fell behind early on to Point University and the Bears came up on the short end of a 7-3 decision in the series finale played on Saturday.
Anthony Houk had a pair of singles, scored and drove in one run as the Bears dropped to 0-3. Kase Mattingly singled and scored while driving in one run. Tyler Menrath doubled and scored.
Chase McKinney suffered the loss.

EMERSON, Ga. – University of Pikeville hurler Brady Cappe was roughed up as Point University completed a season-opening, doubleheader sweep of UPIKE, winning 9-1 in the nightcap played on Friday.
The Bears, now 0-2, managed just four hits, including Tyler Menrath’s RBI-triple, scoring Pastor Sanchez was UPIKE’s lone run.

EMERSON, Ga. – University of Pikeville’s baseball opener went down hill in a hurry as Point University pounded out 15 hits and cruised to a 15-4 win in the opening game of a doubleheader on Friday.
Eduardo Bello belted a home run and single, driving in three runs for UPIKE. Kase Mattingly had two hits and scored while Tyler Menrath had a pair of singles.
Peyton Dove took the loss.
