COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Bears run past Life in big road win; women fall

MARIETTA, Ga. – University of Pikeville bounced back from Thursday’s road loss to split the road trip with a 79-71 win over Life University in a game played on Saturday.

Jordan Perry poured in a game-high 29 points as the Bears moved to 19-8 overall and 6-8 in Mid-South Conference matchups. J.J. Ramey followed with 17 points and DeAndre Barton tossed in 15 while Jazz Parker added 11.

The Bears will host the University of the Cumberlands at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.

MARIETTA, Ga. – University of Pikeville saw a slim third-quarter lead slip away as Life University downed the Bears, 69-59, in a game played on Saturday.

Mia Greatrex fired in 21 points and Elisabeth Latham tallied 14 as UPIKE dropped to 15-13 overall and 5-8 in league games. Theodora Odia chipped in 12 points.

UPIKE will face the University of the Cumberlands at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday. Action begins at 2 p.m.
