PIKEVILLE –UPIKE men’s basketball dominated on both ends of the floor Monday night as the Bears blew out Akron Wayne 118-50 to close out their 2019 part of the schedule.
Every player to enter the game for the Bears ended up scoring, led by freshman JJ Ramey’s 19 points off the bench. Ramey grabbed seven rebounds and posted multiple thunderous dunks in the second half.
Overall six Bears scored in double figures, including Ramey; Jazz Parker and Luke Layhew who each had 14; and Spencer, Deandre Barton, and Da’Rell Domineck with 12 each.
UPIKE men’s basketball begins 2020 with one of the biggest games in the NAIA season thus far, a road matchup at No. 1 Georgetown. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. Saturday.
