UPIKE women’s bowling claimed their third tournament victory of the season this past weekend at the MSC Brandon Burns Classic.
The Bears squad knocked down 9,012 pins to earn the top spot out of 14 teams.
The tournament was held at Smyrna Bowling Center and consisted of six team games on Saturday followed by six baker games on Sunday.
The Bears beat out 13 teams for tournament title, topping runner-up Martin Methodist by 571 pins. Through three conference events, the Bears atop the MSC standings with a record of 33-1.
Kristina Catoe captured the individual title with 1,325 pins in the two-day competition, her second tournament win of the year.
Emily Tull earned a top 10 finish, knocking down 1,151 pins putting her at sixth overall. The junior also recorded her high in game one with a score of 216.
In the baker portion of the tournament, UPIKE scored a tournament high 3,140 through 16 games.
UPIKE women’s bowling will return to MSC action as they travel to Louisville for the Thomas Burris Memorial Invitational on Feb. 27-28.
