COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Fans will be permitted to Marshall football games

Marshall University’s athletic department has announced fans will be allowed to attend 2020 home football games this season in Huntington.

Officials said stadium capacity will be reduced and those who purchased season tickets will be relocated throughout Joan C. Edwards Stadium in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.

Marshall athletic director Mike Hamrick said the school is thrilled to be able to have a fan base during the six home games.

The Thundering Herd will open the season Saturday, Sept. 5 at home against Eastern Kentucky. Kickoff will be announced soon.
