The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) voted to move its football championship to spring 2021.
The ruling came during a vote Friday, moving football with all other fall sports to spring.
Those include volleyball, men’s and women’s cross county and men’s and women’s soccer.
UPIKE and other Mid-South Conference schools will learn next week on the fate of the 2020 season when league officials meet to discuss the upcoming season.
The NAIA leaves the door open for schools or conferences to still compete in the fall if they elect to do so.
UPIKE is scheduled to open its nine-game season at home against University of the Cumberlands on Sept. 12.
