COLLEGE SPORTS: Several UPIKE fall sports moved to spring; football up in air

Mid-South Conference leaders announced a number of fall sports are being postponed until spring due to the continued concern over the COVID-19 pandemic.

UPIKE and other football schools are clinging to hope fall games will be played among conference schools with limited traveling.

The sports impacted by Monday’s decision include women’s and men’s cross country, volleyball and soccer.

UPIKE said the Bears will not participate in any competition prior to Sept. 25-26.

Football’s three divisions will independently set conference play. The announcement on the football schedule will come later this week.
