COLLEGE SPORTS: UPIKE revamps attendance policy

The University of Pikeville is welcoming back fans as the institution looks ahead to the spring 2021 calendar.

Limited fans will be permitted at all sporting events. Uniformed athletes will each receive four tickets which will be distributed prior to each game or match. Those attending will be placed on a pass list for free admittance.

Student-athletes, faculty and staff will be allowed entry free of charge with a valid UPIKE ID. All home fans wishing to attend can purchase tickets upon arrival at the venue with a limited number of tickets available.

All media will be admitted with screening prior to entrance. No fans or family from visiting teams will be permitted.

Protocols will be followed for safety and include a mandatory health screening for fans entering the facility conducted by a member of the UPIKE Sports Medicine staff. The screening will include a temperature check as well as a short questionnaire.

Masks will also be required by all attendees as well as social distancing guidelines. Family groups should sit together and maintain safe distance from other fans and families. Contact with student-athletes or staff is prohibited prior to and after the completion of the event within or around all venues.

The upper arena concourse at the Appalachian Wireless Arena is designated for fans only and no fans will be allowed in the lower arena prior to, during, or after events. Fans must use the Huffman Avenue entrance and exit immediately upon the completion of the contest.

No re-entry will be permitted.
