Four Wildcats named to SEC all-tournament team

Kentucky’s spirited run in the Southeastern Conference Tournament resulted in four Wildcats being voted to the SEC All-Tournament. Catcher Devin Burkes, pitcher Sean Harney, second baseman Daniel Harris IV and shortstop Ryan Ritter were honored for their efforts.

Burkes, from Ocala, Florida, burst onto the scene with a two-homer game in the first of two meetings versus No. 15 LSU. In five games, he led the Cats with a .429 average, seven runs and six RBI. He also stole a pair of bases and handled the pitching staff expertly.

Harney, from Natick, Massachusetts, was brilliant in a first round victory over No. 20 Auburn. He pitched seven shutout innings as UK became the first 12-seed to win a game at the SEC Tournament.

A Stone Mountain, Georgia native, Harris showed off his speed and athleticism throughout the event. He batted .300 with a double, three RBI and three stolen bases.

Ritter, from Tinley Park, Illinois just outside of Chicago, batted .381 with four doubles and four RBI with two stolen bases.
