HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bulldogs land at No. 1 in Super 7 poll; Panthers at No. 2

Lawrence County’s 6-0 start is good enough to put the Bulldogs at No. 1 in the initial Mountain Top Sports boys’ Super 7 basketball poll released on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs are followed by Pikeville. The Panthers are 3-0.

Belfry grabs the No. 3 spot after splitting their first two games. Undefeated Floyd Central (5-0) sets at No. 4.

Rounding out the poll are East Ridge (2-1) at No. 5, followed by sixth-ranked Martin County (3-1) and No. 7 Betsy Layne (2-0).

Receiving votes are Chapmanville (2-0), Shelby Valley (2-2), Man (2-1), Tug Valley (2-0) and Paintsville (3-2).
