The Pikeville Lady Panthers journeyed to the shores of southwest Florida during the Christmas holiday break and arrived back home champions of the Queen of the Palms Tournament played in Fort Myers.
The Lady Panthers, now 11-1, defeated Port Charlotte, Fla., Naples, Fla., and Haines City, Fla., all large Florida schools, to win its second tournament in just over a one-week span.

Pikeville grabbed a big lead early on and the Lady Panthers captured the Queen of the Palms championship, beating Haines City (Fla.), 56-36.
Trinity Rowe poured in 22 points and Kristen Whited added 12 as Pikeville improved to 11-1. Rylee Theiss chipped in nine.

Pikeville punched its ticket to the championship game with a 73-36 win over Naples (Fla.) in the semifinals.
Emma Ratliff led four Lady Panthers in double-figure scoring with 19 points. Kristen Whited followed with 15 while Rylee Theiss tossed in 14. Trinity Rowe added 11. Kylie M. Hall chipped in eight.
