Johnson Central saw a 22-point lead dwindle down in the closing minutes but the Golden Eagles held on to beat West Carter, 74-70, in a game played on Wednesday night.
Isaiah May led a balanced scoring attack for the Golden Eagles, now 7-1, with 15 points. Cory VanHoose followed with 12 while Grant Rice and Ryan Sartin-Slone added 10 each. John King chipped in nine.

Prestonsburg took control early in the game and cruised to a 75-42 win over Phelps in a game played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
Jon Little and Will Gullett paced the Blackcats (3-5) with 15 points each. Connor Hopkins finished with 13 and Jacob Martin netted 11.
Phelps’ Jaeshon Nugent led all scorers with 18 points and Landon Dotson added 10 as the Hornets dropped to 1-9.
