HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Hawks win district game at Phelps; Warriors top Wildcats

Pike Central took control early on against Phelps and cruised to a 79-30 win in a game played at the McCoy Athletic Center on Saturday.

Jaylan Rigdon poured in a game-high 28 points as the Hawks improved to 10-8. Jaden Stewart followed with 12 and Josh Du Toit added 10.

Mike Fleming and Hayden Mounts had nine each for the Hornets, now 6-12.

Russ Osborne paced the Wildcats (11-8) with 12 points while Chaz Brown and Collier Fuller added 11 each.

The Pirates, who improved to 8-6, was led by Sal Dean’s 20 points. DeMahjae Clark scored 18 and Ty Peterson added 17.

Hayden Mounts and Mikey Flemings scored 10 apiece for the Hornets.
