HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Lady Bulldogs shine in Carolina

Lawrence County captured the Carolina Invitational Tournament championship with a 64-53 victory over Morgantown in a showdown played in Charleston, SC on Friday.

Kensley Feltner, who was named tournament MVP, fired in 27 points, and grabbed nine rebounds as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 9-3.

Sophie Adkins finished with 14 points and Kaison Ward tossed in nine.

Lawrence County punched its ticket to the championship game with a 62-34 win over Hilton Head Academy (SC) on Thursday.

Kensley Feltner led three Lady Bulldogs in double figures with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Kaison Ward tallied 11 and Sophie Adkins added 10. Leandra Curnutte chipped in eight.

Lawrence County standout Kensley Feltner put on a highlight reel as the senior poured in a game-high 41 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to power the Lady Bulldogs to a 65-58 win over T.L. Hanna (SC) in the opening round matchup played on Wednesday.

Kaison Ward added 11 points.
