HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Lady Kats stay unbeaten; Ashland edges Pikeville

Shelby Valley took the lead early on against Pike Central and cruised to a 72-38 win in a game played at the Shelby Valley Sports Center on Saturday.

Cassidy Rowe led a trio of Lady Kats in double figures with 21 points. Alyssa Elswick followed with 16 and Kyra Looney net 10. Kylie Alvin chipped in eight.

Emalie Tackett paced the Lady Hawks with 15 and Hannah May tossed in 12.

Katie Marcum finished with 22 points and Laken Williams followed with 19 while Jaaliyah Warren tallied 14, Brooklynn Marcum added 11 and Alyssa Allen hit for 10.

Williams had nine steals, eight assists, eight deflections and five rebounds. Marcum added eight boards.
