Pikeville built a double-digit, halftime lead and went on to beat district rival Shelby Valley, 65-47, in a game played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday night.
Kristen Whited led a balanced scoring attack for the Lady Panthers (17-4) with 14 points. Kylie Hall net 13 while Emma Ratliff added 11. Rylee Theiss tossed in 10 and Trinity Rowe chipped in nine. Kenzie Maynard tallied eight.
The short-handed Lady Kats (11-6) were led by Zoee Johnson’s game-high 20 points and Alyssa Elswick added 18.

Pike Central rallied late for the second time this season to edge East Ridge, 50-47, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Thursday night.
The Lady Hawks, now 8-17, scored a buzzer-beating shot earlier in the season to beat the Lady Warriors (4-18).
Hannah May paced Central with 13 points and Allie Spears followed with 12. Emalie Tackett tossed in eight.
Mackenzie Sawyers led East Ridge with 10 points while Haleigh Damron and Sylvia Ratliff added nine apiece.
