HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Moore reaches milestone in Lady Jags win

Floyd Central standout Katie Jo Moore poured in 23 points and the Lady Jaguars turned away Hazard, 58-54, in a game played on Tuesday night.

Moore reached 1,500 career points at Floyd Central and over 2,100 for her career as the Lady Jaguars improved to 7-0. Kennedy Harvel finished with 19 and Jada Johnson tallied 11.

Johnson Central won its sixth straight game as the Lady Eagles knocked off Shelby Valley, 50-44, in a game played at Eagle Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

Sammi Sites had 18 points and Kecli Blair chipped in nine as the Lady Eagles moved to 6-1. Kailyn Vannoy added eight.

Jazzy Meade led the Lady Kats, now 4-2, with 11 points. Zoee Johnson scored nine and Alyssa Elswick chipped in eight.

Lawrence County overcame a first-half deficit to slip past Martin County, 58-54, in a game played at MCHS Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

Kensley Feltner had 26 points and 20 rebounds while dishing out six assists as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-1.Kyleah Ward finished with 11 points and Brooke Neal tossed in nine.

Laken Williams paced the Lady Cardinals with 18 points and Lynndsey Cassell followed with 16. Katie Marcum added 10 as Martin County dropped to 4-2.
