HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Blackcats fall short at Bath County

Prestonsburg’s missed conversion attempts proved to be the difference as Bath County edged the Blackcats, 21-20, in the district matchup played in Owingsville on Friday night.

Running back Carter Akers rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown on 18 attempts as Prestonsburg dropped to 4-5 overall and lost for the third straight week.

Receiver Dalton Elliott had two catches, both for touchdowns He caught a 65-yard pass from Alex Harrs and a 15-yard scoring pass from Reece Hamilton.

Prestonsburg played without running back Ethan Jarvis.

The Blackcats travel to The Rock to face Martin County (6-4) on Oct. 22. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
