HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Bulldogs win big in season opener

Lawrence County had waited a long time this high school football season to get on the field and hit someone other than themselves.

The Bulldogs went on the road to Magoffin County and dominated the Hornets, 39-0, on Friday night.

Running back Dylan Ferguson rushed for 153 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. Quarterback Alex Strickland added 77 yards and rushed for three touchdowns.

Running back Blue Fletcher finished with 60 yards and one score.

Both teams are back in action on Oct. 9. The Bulldogs will host Pike County Central (2-2) while the Hornets (2-2) journey to Floyd Central (2-2). Both games are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
