HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Cardinals rough up Warriors

Martin County scored 41 unanswered points over the final three quarters to beat East Ridge, 48-16, in a game played at the Reservation on Friday night.

Quarterback Jason Maynard rushed for three touchdowns as the Cardinals moved to 5-3. Running back Dawson Mills had 187 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown. Kolby Sparks added 163 yards on the ground on 15 carries.

Running back Branson Smith scored a pair of first-half touchdowns and Madden Miller added a rushing score.

East Ridge, now 2-4, played the entire second half without starting quarterback Dylan Burdine who suffered an injury late in the second quarter. Burdine had a two-yard rushing touchdown and running back Isaiah Adkins added one rushing score.
