Lawrence County built a double-digit halftime lead against Magoffin County and went on to top the Hornets, 58-26, on the road Friday night.
Running back Dylan Ferguson ran for 90 yards and one touchdown on seven carries, and he recovered a fumble for another score as the Dawgs improved to 3-1.
Cody Crum ran for two scores and finished with 60 yards on five rushing attempts. Lawson Baisden ran for a touchdown and returned an interception for another. Kaden Gillispie returned an interception for a touchdown
Magoffin County quarterback Aden Barnett passed for over 200 yards and a touchdown and rushed for a score as the Hornets dropped to 2-3.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday night as the Dawgs visit East Carter (5-0) while the Hornets host Belfry (2-3). Kickoff for both games is 7:30 pm.
