High school football teams across Kentucky can officially kick off the 2021 season at 12:01 a.m., with the two-week dead period coming to an end at midnight.
This includes football with helmet-only practices.
COVID-19 delayed spring sports last season, resulting in an overlap of when the players participating in baseball and track would be able to attend football practices.
The dead period, which began on June 25, restricted athletes from coaching and training from school personnel. School funds were halted on supplies as well.
High school football season will begin on Aug. 20. iHigo0
