Magoffin County closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 28-26 win over Morgan County on the home turf on Friday night.
Quarterback Lucas Litteral had a big game, passing for 151 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 73 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
Receiver Brad Standifer caught six passes for 72 yards and one touchdown.
Magoffin County’s defense forced and recovered four fumbles to help preserve the win. Ian McCarty had two. Ben Lafferty and Brayden Standifer one each.
The Hornets, now 6-3, will begin post-season play with a Class 2A road game at Lawrence County on Nov. 5. Kickoff is 7 pm.
