Magoffin County’s high-octane passing game was grounded for much of the night without starting quarterback Lucas Litteral.
All-purpose back Aden Barnett picked up the slack by rushing for four touchdowns and passing for another as the Hornets earned a 40-14 win over the Tigers on the road Friday night.
Barnett rushed eight times for 152 yards and returned a kickoff for another score. Ben Lafferty followed with 73 yards on seven rushes.
Receiver Brad Standifer hauled in a 62-yard TD reception. It was his only catch.
Magoffin County faces its biggest test this season when the Hornets visit Lawrence County on Sept. 17. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
