Magoffin County’s high-octane offense was limited by Clay County’s defense for much of the game as the Tigers beat the Hornets, 24-12, in a game played at MCHS Stadium on Friday night.
Quarterback Lucas Litteral passed for 174 yards and one touchdown, and he rushed for 112 yards on 13 carries and a score as the Hornets dropped to 5-3.
Receiver Aden Barnett had four catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Grayson Whitaker caught five passes for 77 yards.
Clay County running back Adam Collins had 136 yards and scored three times in the win.
Magoffin County will close out the regular season at home against Morgan County (4-5) on Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
