Martin County snapped a 20-all tie with a late touchdown and the Cardinals knocked off Prestonsburg, 27-20, in a game played at Josh Francis Field on Friday night.
Running back Brock Messer ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals improved to 6-3. Madden Miller added a pair of short touchdown runs while Julian Stafford took an interception back 79 yards for a score.
Prestonsburg running back Ethan Jarvis rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries as the Blackcats closed out the regular season at 8-2.
Dalton Elliott hauled in a pair of TD passes, one each from quarterback Reece Hamilton and Jarvis.
Martin County will close out the regular season at home against East Carter (5-4) on Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
The Blackcats will begin post-season play at Middlesboro (5-3) on Nov. 4.
