Paintsville went on the road to Garrard County and came up short, falling 22-14 in a game played on Saturday.
The Tigers, now 2-3, trailed 22-6 in the third period before closing to within a touchdown. However, Garrard County picked off two passes in the endzone to hang on and win.
Quarterback Frederick James passed for 225 yards and one touchdown pass to Zach Taylor.
Running back Harris Phelps was held to 86 yards on 18 carries and one score.
Receiver Jonah Porter caught three passes for 89 yards.
The Tigers will host Perry Central (2-3) at Memorial Field on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
