Paintsville’s high-octane offense picked up were it left off in week one as the Tigers dominated from the opening kickoff in a 54-0 victory over Hazard in a game played Memorial Field on Friday night.
Quarterback Jake Hyden accounted for five touchdowns, passing for three and running for two others as Paintsville improved to 2-0.
Hyden passed for 191 yards and rushed for 107 on 13 carries in the win. Running back Harris Phelps ran for 82 yards and two scores on seven carries.
Zach Thompson added a rushing touchdown. Colby Fugate had a 69-yard touchdown catch and Devin Hall hauled in three passes for 58 yards and one TD. Jonah Porter caught three passes for 55 yards. Karsten Poe had a nine-yard touchdown reception.
The Tigers finished with 450 total yards.
Mason Lovely had 11 tackles and Thompson picked off one pass.
Paintsville will play at Perry Central (1-2) on Oct. 2. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
