The Pikeville Panthers and Johnson Central Golden Eagles set atop the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 football poll released on Tuesday.
Pikeville, now 6-2, dismantled previously unbeaten Sayre (43-7) to join Johnson Central, now 5-2. The Golden Eagles used a big second-half performance to trounce Perry Central.
Lawrence County (6-1) maintained the No. 3 position. The only thing to slow down the Bulldogs this season is COVID.
Letcher Central kept a strong hold on No. 4 after beating Clay County (54-18) on the road. The Cougars only loss came to Pikeville.
Martin County (6-3) leaped to No. 5 following an impressive 49-20 home win over Shelby Valley.
Rounding out the top seven are Paintsville (3-4) in sixth, with Betsy Layne (6-1) at No. 7.
Receiving votes this week are Logan (5-2), Magoffin County (4-2) and Belfry (2-5).
