The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced this morning the start of the football playoffs have been delayed one week.
The delay is an effort to provide school systems time to review their situations and work with local health departments to determine the best course of action.
KHSAA officials said no additional changes are expected following the opening round now set for Nov. 19-21. Teams can play on Sunday.
In the meantime, area schools who have qualified for the post season, are encouraged to review site strategies, seating capacity, and all other facets of the likely contest during this interim period.
Eighty-two state counties were in the red zone on Friday.
