HIGH SCHOOL: KDE takes no action to delay football

The Kentucky Department of Education voted unanimously to send a letter to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to consider additional alternative options for high contract sports.

The group did not recommend an action on playing for now.

KDE members will ask the KHSAA to look at what guidelines other states are following.

Board members addressed their concerns about playing during the nearly four-hour meeting.

Volleyball, cross country, and soccer will begin Sept. 7. Football will kickoff on Sept. 11.
