Members of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) passed a motion to approve a nine-week high school football season during its meeting on Tuesday.
Teams will begin regular-season play on Sept. 11. Practice will begin Aug. 24.
Scrimmages for all KHSAA teams will not be played until further notice.
Schools will not play less than eight games during the regular season. Games scheduled for Aug. 21, 28 and Sept. 3 will not be played unless rescheduled later in the fall.
The post-season will begin on Nov. 13 with all five rounds to be played.
The state championships will be played at Kroger Field on Dec. 11-12.
