Kentucky High School Athletic Association Commissioner Julian Tackett informed county school superintendents masks will be mandatory for all spectators attending football games this fall.
The announcement came as teams are preparing to take the practice field on Aug. 24, with the shortened regular season to begin on Sept. 11.
Tackett said in the conference call, “it’s without question masks will be required and district should begin calculating their sports facilities.”
The commissioner hopes to have a final version, outlining requirements and options to all districts prior to the first practice.
