Martin County’s Sophia McCoy scored four goals and assisted on one other to lead the Lady Cardinals to an 8-1 victory over Pikeville in the opening round of the 15th Region All “A” soccer tournament played at StoneCrest Complex on Monday night.
Julia Pinson followed with two goals while Lena Hale scored once and assisted on two other goals. Trinity Preece added one goal. Caitlyn Horn and Hailey Damron each had an assist.
Goalkeeper Marlie Fletcher and six saves in the win.
Pikeville’s Emma Ratliff had the lone Lady Panthers goal in the loss.

Lawrence County dominated Shelby Valley from the very outset as the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 10-0 victory in a match played at Teco Field on Monday night.
Ellie Webb knocked home three goals and assisted on one other while Jasmine Justice added two goals and two assists.
Maggie Johnson and Alyssa Howard added a pair of goals each. Alyssa Moore assisted on two goals and Brylee Blair had an assist.
Goalkeeper Kaison Ward recorded her first shutout in two matches.
