HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Ford tosses no-hitter in Pikeville win over Floyd Central; Bat Kats roll

Pikeville ace pitcher Emily Ford tossed a complete-game no-hitter, striking out 16 batters, as the Lady Panthers rolled to a 10-0 victory over Floyd Central in a road game played on Monday night.

Ginna Jones tripled and drove in three runs as Pikeville improved to 13-5 overall. Olivia Hall finished with three hits, including a double, and batted in three runs while scoring once.

Molly Coleman tripled in one run and score while Ford had a pair of singles and added a pair of RBIs. Kelcie Adams singled three times and score one run.

Ashley Bellamy was the losing pitcher for the Lady Jaguars, now 4-5.

Pike Central pounded out 10 hits and cruised to an 18-4 win over East Ridge in a road game played at the Reservation on Monday.

Emalie Tackett had two hits, including a double, scored three times and drove in three runs as the Lady Hawks moved to 5-9. Sydnee Lowe added three hits, one a double, scored twice. and batted in two runs.  Hannah May singled, walked, scored, and added a pair of RBIs.

Lilly Blackburn was the winning pitcher.

Shelby Valley snapped a 1-all tie with a five-run, fourth inning and the Bat Kats went on to defeat Letcher Central, 10-1, in a road game played at Cougar Field on Monday night.

Beth Werner blasted a home run, singled, scored two runs and drove in a pair as the Bat Kats improved to 7-5. Olivia Bowling had four hits, including a triple and double. She scored two runs and batted in three. Kyra Looney added three singles, scored, and knocked in two runs.

Lily Napier was the winning pitcher.

MacKenzie Nantz doubled and scored for the Lady Cougars, now 9-4. Alyssa Nicely was tagged with the loss.

Laney Bledsoe doubled, singled, scored and knocked in three runs while Ashley Wells singled twice, walked, scored, and added three RBIs. Chessa Collins had two singles, walked, and scored four runs. Winning pitcher Chloe Hannah had two hits, scored, and drove in one.

Ashlyn Patrick had two hits, including a triple, scored, and batted in a pair of runs in the loss. Presley Smith doubled in one run and scored. Losing pitcher Holly Handshoe had two hits, one a double, and drove in one run. Katie Howard doubled and singled.
