HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Logan dominates in winning Lyndel Potter championship

Logan pounded out nine extra base hits, including a pair of home runs, as the Lady Wildcats rolled to an 11-1 win over Elizabethton (TN) in six innings in the 20th annual Lyndel Potter Memorial tournament championship game played at Myers Field in Pikeville on Saturday. 

The Lady Wildcats finished the tournament a perfect 5-0, having previously beaten Paintsville (9-8), Elizabethton (6-1), Grundy, VA (15-0), and East Carter (10-0). 

Logan finished the tournament with nine home runs and 33 extra base hits. 

In the championship game against the Cyclones, Harlee Quick led the way with four hits,  including a home run and two doubles. She scored four runs and batted in four as Logan improved to 20-6.

Taylor Noe added a home run, double, and single, driving in two runs and scored twice. Winning pitcher Myleigh Adkins doubled and singled in two runs. Lauren Adkins tripled in two runs and scored.
