Defending 15th Region champion Paintsville dominated from the very outset as the Lady Tigers cruised to a 3-0 victory over Magoffin County in the season opener played on Tuesday night.
Hailey Little finished with 16 serving aces and nine kills in the 25-4, 25-4, and 25-7 win. Blair Ratliff had 12 kills and four aces while Kynzi Slone added 19 assists. Kara Ward totaled six digs, four kills, and four aces.

East Ridge scored its second straight shutout win to open the season as the Lady Warriors went on the road to Jenkins and beat the Lady Cavaliers, 3-0, in a match played Tuesday night.
Kierstin Coleman had seven kills, three digs, and five serving aces in the 25-12, 25-15, and 25-11 win. Sarah Woods finished with 21 assists, one dig, and three aces.
Courtlin Phillips added one kill, six digs, and seven aces while Hannah Blackburn totaled seven kills and Hannah Steffey collected seven aces.

Betsy Layne’s Emily Johnson had seven kills, two blocks and 27 digs to help lead the Lady Bobcats past Phelps, 3-0, in a match played at Junior Newsome Arena on Tuesday night.
It was the season opener for both teams.
Lindsey Watkins had four kills, 22 assists, five digs, and 10 serving aces while Madi Meade totaled 41 digs in the 25-19, 25-17, and 25-8 win.
Akira Kethley added four kills, six blocks, eight digs, and one serving aces. Madison Hamilton finished with seven kills and five blocks and Tia Wesley had eight kills and four digs.
Phelps was led by Amelia Casey with seven kills and 11 blocks. LaRanda Francis added seven blocks.
