HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Paintsville remains unbeaten; LCC tops Pike Central

Paintsville ran its record to 8-0 with a dominating 3-0 victory over host Magoffin County in a match played Thursday night.

Hailey Little finished with 13 kills and three serving aces in the 25-11, 25-3 and 25-3 win.

Hadley Harden and Blair Ratliff added nine kills apiece while Shelby Hatfield had seven aces. Bella Blackburn totaled 35 assists and three digs. Kara Ward had eight kills, three digs and five aces.

Defending 15th Region champion Floyd Central dominated from start to finish in a 2-0 victory over Hazard in a match played on Thursday night.

Jadyn Hall had seven kills, two digs and one ace in the 25-11 and 25-4 win.

Caley Howard followed with six kills and Gabrielle Howard added five and four aces.

Letcher Central won for the first time this season as the Lady Cougars defeated Pike County Central, 2-0, in a match played at LCCHS Gymnasium on Thursday night.

Autumn Wampler and Summer Madden had four kills each. Calista Adams had two kills and four blocks in the 25-19 and 25-15 win.

Destiny Fleming had three kills and four blocks for the Lady Hawks. Ashley Sands totaled eight digs.

Prestonsburg earned a hard-fought, fifth set to defeat Betsy Layne, 3-2, in a match played at Junior Newsome Arena on Thursday night.

Molly Boyd had 22 kills, 22 assists, 11 digs and three serving aces in the 20-25, 25-21, 28-26, 23-25 and 16-14 win.

Erin Akers totaled 10 kills, 26 assists, 15 digs and two aces. Jada Slone had 10 kills, 26 digs and three aces. Aaliyah Jarrell finished with six kills and 14 digs while Mya Burgess had seven kills, one block and nine digs.  Darian Sanders added 12 digs.

Katie Kidd totaled 12 kills, 14 blocks, 12 digs and four serving aces while Akira Keathley finished with two kills, 11 blocks and Maddie Duff added 19 assists and 10 digs. Madie Meade totaled 38 digs while Lindsey Watkins had 11 assists, 13 digs and four aces.

Belfry took a close second set against Phelps and went on to score a 3-0 victory in a match played Thursday night.

Phelps was led by LaRanda Francis who finished with eight kills, five blocks and three digs in the 15-25, 25-27 and 12-25 loss.

Amelia Casey finished with seven kills and eight blocks while Alyssa Wolford totaled 10 digs.
